Suu Kyi meets foreign diplomats

8:12 pm on 16 November 2010

Mynamar's newly released opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, has told foreign diplomats that no conditions have been imposed on her freedom but that she has no immediate travel plans.

After her first meeting with diplomats since being freed from house arrest, Ms Suu Kyi said she was focused on seeking the release of the 2100 other political prisoners still in Myanmar jails.

She paid tribute to the countries that had steadfastly supported her and urged the international community to press the ruling junta to release the other political prisoners.
