Indonesia's Mt Merapi volcano is continuing to throw out searing gas clouds, smoke and ash as thousands of people scramble for their lives to welfare centres.
At least 65 people have been killed and dozens injured after the volcano in central Java erupted again on Friday.
More than 100 people are now believed have been killed since one of the world's most active volcanos began erupting on 26 October.
Scientists are warning of further eruptions in coming weeks.
The government says more than 150,000 people have so far been evacuated and many are living in temporary shelters.
Many of the dead are believed to be children from Argomulyo village, 18km from the crater of the volcano, according to accounts of the destruction from emergency response officials.
Hospital sources say dozens of people are receiving treatment for burn injuries and breathing problems due to the volcanic ash, the ABC reports.
Ash, deadly heat clouds and molten debris have been seen gushing from the mouth of the 2914-metre mountain and shooting high into the sky, posing a threat to passing aviation.
Indonesia's transport ministry has told pilots to stay at least 12km away from the volcano.
A government vulcanologist says the exclusion zone has been widened from 15km to 20km around the mountain.
Anyone living inside the zone has been ordered to evacuate immediately.
