The Australian Government has more than doubled its aid to flood-ravaged areas of Pakistan.
Another $A40 million will be spent on food, water and sanitation supplies, assistance for farmers to replant crops and the reconstruction of health facilities.
Newly appointed Foreign Affairs Minister Kevin Rudd announced the funding during a visit to Australian troops and medical staff working in the Punjab province, the ABC reports.
About $A11 million of the new money will be given to the World Food Program, Unicef and the World Health Organisation, while $A9 million will go to Australian NGOs.
About $A20 million will go towards helping Pakistan farmers get started again and for rebuilding schools.
