Galaxy reject Milan offer for Beckham offer

Los Angeles Galaxy has rejected an offer by AC Milan for David Beckham.

Beckham, 33, is on loan at Milan until 9 March and wants to stay with the Series A team permanently.

AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani told SKY television on Saturday that the two parties are still "a long way apart."

The Galaxy says Beckham will return to Los Angeles in March as scheduled unless Milan comes up with a substantially higher offer.

The former England captain joined the Galaxy in 2007 on a five-year deal.

However, he now wants to move to Italy to help him play another World Cup for England in South Africa next year.

He has scored only five goals for the Galaxy in 30 games.
