In the United States, a labrador that ate a beehive containing pesticides and thousands of dead bees has won an award that recognises the most unusual pet health insurance claim.
The annual Hambone award has been announced by the Veterinary Pet Insurance Company.
Ellie, the one-year-old Labrador from southern California, beat a border collie that ran through a window to get at a mailman, and a terrier that bit a chainsaw.
All three dogs have recovered from their accidents.
