Eight dead after loader driver goes on rampage

The driver of a front-end loader has gone on a rampage in his vehicle in China leaving at least eight dead, 20 injured and dozens of vehicles crushed.

Li Xianliang, 38, who works at a coal depot in Nanzuo in Hebei province, had an argument with a customer that ended with him killing the client on Sunday, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

Local government officials gave no details of how the man died, AFP reports.

Mr Li then set off on his rampage in the vehicle, killing seven more people and damaging or destroying dozens of cars, trucks, buses and motorcycles. Several roadside shops were also damaged.

Police have detained the driver.
