Munitions ship detained in India

A cargo vessel carrying what is reported to be a "huge quantity" of explosives and other weapons bound for Pakistan, has been detained at a harbour in eastern India.

West Bengal police say the vessel was heading for Karachi and was detained on an intelligence tip-off at Diamond Harbour, 50km south of Kolkata (Calcutta).

A large amount of explosives, rocket launchers, anti-aircraft guns and bombs were found on board.

The captain of the MV Agean Glory is being questioned.
