The first major international climate change meeting since the Copenhagen summit late last year has begun in Bonn, Germany.
New Zealand Climate Change Ambassador Adrian Macey says the two-week meeting has begun in a more positive mood.
Mr Macey says the heat and tension generated at Copenhagen has been replaced by a more business-like approach to the negotiations.
He says the Bonn meeting won't achieve a global agreement but could make progress on a dozen issues important to any meaningful deal.
