Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva of Thailand has again called on anti-government protestors to end their occupation of the commercial centre of Bangkok.

In a television broadcast, he appealed to the 'red shirt' protestors in the capital to work with him on a plan for reconciliation.

The BBC reports Mr Abhisit has already offered to dissolve parliament in September and hold early elections on 14 November.

The protests began on 14 March. The Bangkok shopping district has been occupied since 3 April.
