The National Rugby League has found the Melbourne Storm was above the salary cap by more than first believed, with the figure for this season growing to $A850,000.
The ABC reports it was initially believed the club was $A700,000 over the cap this year and $A1.7 million over five years.
However, NRL chief executive David Gallop says the figure for the 2010 season has grown by another $A150,000.
Gallop confirmed to the Herald Sun newspaper on Friday that the amount was now $A850,000 for this year.
The final figures are expected to be known in a couple of weeks.
Two premierships have been stripped from the club, and all competition points for this season.
The Storm has been ordered to repay $A1.1 million prize money and pay $A500,000 in fines.
