Fire warning for tourists in WA

8:21 am on 24 January 2010

The Fire and Emergency Services Authority in Western Australia is warning holiday makers to be aware of bushfire risks.

The ABC reports the state is in the middle of the bushfire season. FESA says holiday makers in areas susceptible to fires need to have a survival plan.

The agency says it is important for people to familiarise themselves with the area in which they are staying, so they can "go to somewhere that's going to be safe" if a fire starts.
