Fiji's ousted prime minister Laisenia Qarase has been ordered to stand trial in the High Court next week on five charges of abusing his office.
The Fijivillage website says Mr Qarase denies the charges, which were brought against him by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption in February 2008.
The charges relate to the Fijian Affairs Board in 2004 and the Fiji Development Bank in 1992.
Mr Qarase will be defended at the High Court in Suva by Qoronaisi Bale, who was attorney-general when the military staged its coup in 2006.
