Tonga's Solicitor-General Aminiasi Kefu will arrive in New Zealand on Saturday for a week-long visit under the Prime Minister's Fellowship with Tonga.
The fellowship, established two years ago, is intended to develop leadership and encourage personal friendships between key figures in New Zealand and Tonga.
Prime Minister John Key says Mr Kefu already has strong ties with both the legal fraternity and academic institutions in New Zealand and the visit will help strengthen those links and foster new ones.
Mr Key says it's also significant that Mr Kefu's visit is occurring during a year of historic significance for Tonga, with moves toward democratic reform.
