Weather forecasters in the United States predict the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season will be more violent than usual.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts up to eight new hurricanes will form by the end of November and up to five of those will be major hurricanes.
The current Atlantic hurricane season has generated five tropical storms to date.
