A strong quake has struck in the ocean off Vanuatu
The United States Geological Survey's initial estimate of the magnitude was 6.5. It said the quake hit about 88km northwest of Port Olry and more than 400km from the capital, Port Vila.
The tremor this morning was at a depth of 10km.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no threat of a destructive tsunami
This is the second quake there within a few hours; earlier a magnitude 6.2 tremor was recorded.
