Deputy Prime Minister Sadiq Abdulkarim of Libya has survived an assassination attempt in Tripoli.

Officials says gunmen opened fire as Sadiq Abdulkarim was attacked in the capital on Wednesday on his way to enter from the Interior Ministry to the General National Congress assembly.
The state news agency said he was not wounded in the attack. Mr Abdulkarim later made a television appearance and said he had returned to work afterwards.
"I tell those who did it that Libya is bigger than you and Libya's men will not be threatened by bullets, guns or rockets," he said on television.
The identity of the attackers is not yet clear.
Parts of Libya are effectively under the control of militias, armed tribesmen and insurgents who helped topple Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
They kept their guns and regularly challenge the authority of the new government.
