Police in Ukraine have forcibly broken up a demonstration against President Viktor Yanukovych in the capital Kiev.
The BBC reports that dozens of people were hurt when police used batons to disperse the crowd of about 400 in the early hours of the morning.
The protesters were angered by Mr Yanukovich's rejection of a partnership deal with the European Union, and called for his resignation.
The protesters turned Independence Square into a sea of blue and gold - the colours of the Ukrainian and EU flags.
Supporters of the president held a smaller demonstration nearby.
