For the second time in less than a week a rare type of sea creature more than four metres long, known as an oarfish, has washed up on a beach in California.
Scientists do not yet know why the oarfish came into shallow waters.
But the fish has been linked to several myths, the BBC reports.

And the internet has been buzzing on the subject since not one, but two dead oar fish were washed up on the Southern California coast in less than a week.
They are very rare can grow up to 15 metres long and inspire the ancient mariners' myth of the sea serpent.
