Almost 500 brass flower vases were stolen from a crematorium in New South Wales on Wednesday.
Police said the 496 vases were taken from memorial gardens at the crematorium in Unanderra, on the south coast.
AAP reports the vases were attached to brass name plates on three separate memorial walls, including 190 from an area specifically for ex-servicemen and women.
More than 50 name plates were damaged.
