Swiss launch first sex drive-in

11:17 am on 27 August 2013

Switzerland's first sex drive-in will open in Zurich on Tuesday after voters approved the move in a referendum.

It is hoped the drive-in will create a safer space for sex workers and take prostitution off the streets.

The drive-in has a track where the workers can show off their assets and negotiate a price, and nine areas where they and their clients can conclude the transaction.

The drive-in is designed to be safe, with security guards to ensure there is only one man in each car that enters, as well alarm buttons and on-site doctors and social workers.

However, some prostitutes fear the strictly controlled environment will scare off their customers.
