An armed robber took jewels estimated to be worth about 40 million euros from a jewellery exhibition in Cannes on Sunday.
The exhibition was being held at the Carlton Hotel and the jewels were in a case.
Hotel management declined to comment afterwards to AFP.
During the film festival in May, jewellery worth $US1.4 million that was due to be loaned to movie stars was stolen from a hotel. The items were in a strongbox which was removed from a room.
