A magnitude 6.7 earthquake has struck in the Indian Ocean, near Christmas Island.
The quake struck at 1647 GMT and was 11 kilometres deep, centred 170 kilometres east-northeast of the Australian territory.
It was felt 420 kilometres away in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.
There was no report of a tsunami warning from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
