Two boys are reported to have been beheaded in Afghanistan by the Taliban but the insurgents have denied responsibility.
An Afghan official said the Taliban killed them for spying in the southern province of Kandahar.
The boys had been scavenging for food in bins near police headquarters when they were abducted.
They are thought to have regularly accepted food handouts from police.
The Taliban is known to target those suspected of colluding with police but in this ioncident, the Taliban says it is not responsible.
