About 60 people have been injured after two commuter trains collided near New York.
Metro-North Railroad described it as a "major derailment", just outside Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The crash occurred between a train headed to New York and one travelling in the opposite direction en-route to New Haven, Connecticut.
There have been no reports of fatalities.
The accident backed up train travel in both directions along a stretch of the United States east coast from New York to Boston, Massachusetts.
