A magnitude 6.6 earthquake has occurred off northern Sumatra in Indonesia.
The US Geological Survey says a tsunami warning is possible.
However the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii says there are no threat of a widespread, tsunami.
The quake occurred at about 7.30am about 330km southeast of Banda Aceh on Wednesday, at a depth of 45km.
