A kitten is recovering in California after a two week journey across the Pacific in a shipping container from China without food or water.
It has been named Ni Hao ('Hello' in Mandarin), after being found when the container was opened last week, following a 10,000km voyage from Shanghai.
At first the kitten was too weak to stand, but is now taking its first steps. Officials hope a cat-lover will adopt it.
Ni Hao is three months old and orange and white.
It was not immediately clear how he got into the container.
