Magnitude 6.7 quake hits Papua New Guinea

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 has struck Papua New Guinea.

The US Geological Survey said the tremor on Thursday was centred near the highland town of Goroka, 384 kilometres north-northwest of the capital, Port Moresby.

The earthquake was at a depth of 106 km.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injury, Reuters reports.
