Labour Party MP Shane Jones says he needs to work harder during question time in Parliament now he's back on the Opposition front bench.
New Labour leader David Shearer appointed Mr Jones to his top team on Monday.
The list MP has responsibility for several portfolios, including Maori Economic Development and Fisheries.
Mr Jones says it's an honour to return to the front bench after being dropped in 2010 for misusing his Parliamentary credit card.
He says he has always been a strong contributor in Parliament and enjoyed the debates but admits he still needs to do more during question time.
Mr Jones says he never suffers any feelings of doubt when he stands and speaks in Parliament.
