South Island iwi Ngai Tahu has confirmed it is in talks with the owners of a Rotorua tourism attraction.
The Agrodome is known for farming entertainment, including sheep shearing shows and sheep dog demonstrations.
In a statement, Ngai Tahu Tourism chief executive John Thorburn confirmed that discussions have taken place with the Agrodome owners but nothing has been finalised.
The chairperson for the Tuhourangi Tribal Authority, John Waaka, says he is not disappointed that Ngai Tahu is looking at investing in Rotorua.
However, Mr Waaka says he is not happy that local iwi Te Arawa didn't get in first.
