The scheme uses an inter-agency approach to help not only a struggling individual but their family.

Ms Mahuta said Labour wanted to move Whanau Ora forward and create new innovative policies around it.

She said it was important for the policy to be based on achievable outcomes. Ms Mahuta said more needed to be done to tackle the huge inequality and poverty gap.

She said a review of Whanau Ora would be based around that need.
