The Waitangi Tribunal is to signal its direction for the next 12 years.
Chief Judge Wilson Isaac said it was a significant time in the history of the Tribunal.
He said it was approaching the completion of its district inquiry programme, where regional historical and contemporary claims were heard.
The Waitangi Tribunal is setting goals for the future, including addressing the backlog of contemporary claims by 2025.
