Te Reo strategy feedback due

7:12 pm on 18 March 2014

The Ministry of Maori Development is due to give the Minister of Maori Affairs feedback from the public on the government's proposed Te Reo strategy before the end of the month.

Submissions on the plan closed 28 February and are being processed by the Ministry of Maori Development - Te Puni Kokiri.

It expects to pass on a detailed summary to Maori Affairs Minister Pita Sharples in the next couple of weeks.

Te Puni Kokiri says feedback will help Dr Sharples decide his next step.

Once he has decided, he'll seek approval for arrangements for a new Maori Language Strategy from Cabinet.
