Preparations are underway for next year's premier kapa haka competition - Te Matatini.
A series of roadshows were set to kick off in the South Island, to get people involved in the event, which will held in Christchurch in March 2015.
The contest, a national event, is to be hosted by the Waitaha Cultural Council Trust. It traditionally attracts tens of thousands of spectators and competitors.
