TPK in leadership recruitment drive

Te Puni Kokiri is making changes to its management team and is on the hunt for staff.

The Ministry of Maori Development is advertising for people to fill four high-ranking roles.

It's recruiting a team of deputy chief executives covering strategy and organisational performance, regional partnerships, policy partnerships, and organisational support.

The ministry has recently been attacked by Independent MP Brendan Horan, who says the department has been overspending on contractors and consultants - paying out $9.5 million in the past financial year.

However, Te Puni Kokiri has explained to MPs that it held off from filling 56 full-time jobs while a review of the agency was carried out.
