The former head of Maori Television, Jim Mather, is getting his feet under his new desk at Te Wananga o Aotearoa.
He took up his new role as the chief executive of the tertiary education provider today, after leaving his leadership job at the broadcaster on Friday.
Mr Mather was welcomed with a powhiri held at the institution's head office in Te Awamutu.
He was farewelled with a poroporoaki after eight years at the TV channel.
The channel's financial manager, Alan Withrington, will act as interim chief executive after a failed recruitment process in September.
