The Auckland waterfront comes alive with Maori culture and performances for three days from Friday.
The celebration - Atamira - is held every second year in the city.
Events are taking place at the Cloud and Shed 10.
Organisers are hoping to top previous attendance figures at the free event.
They say the three previous Atamira Maori in the City festivals each attracted over 100,000 people.
People can expect Maori master carvers, weavers, ta moko artists, music, kapa haka performances, and Maori food makers.
