Funded television hours have been cut for companies wanting to bid for money to produce Maori language programmes.
The Maori Broadcasting Funding Agency's statement of intent for 2013 - 2018, shows contestable TV funding for this year has reduced by $300,000.
Last year, just under $30 million was set aside to fund 728 hours of programming.
But, the agency known as Te Mangai Paho, reports $24.5 million was set aside this year to provide programming for 660 hours.
Next year, the funded hours are due to fall by another 60 hours.
