A group that argued for the Tino Rangatiratanga flag to fly from the Auckland Harbour Bridge wants it to fly in state schools.
Te Ata Tino Toa says it's written to Minister of Education, Hekia Parata, with its request.
The group's spokesperson, Te Ao Pritchard, says she's sure Ms Parata will welcome the idea because it ties in with the values she promotes in education.
She says those values include helping schools engage with Maori, as well as promoting te reo Maori and culture.
