Treaty grounds get new manager

Waitangi National Trust has appointed the current director of the Rotorua Museum of Art and History as its new chief executive.

Trust members manage of land and buildings on the site where Te Tiriti o Waitangi was first signed in 1840.

They say Greg McManus comes to the position with experience both at home and overseas.

Waitangi National Trust Board chairperson Pita Paraone credits Mr McManus with raising the profile of Rotorua Museum.

He says it is now one of the leading visitor attractions in the Rotorua area.

Greg McManus begins his role as chief executive from 6 August.
