Grant for Maori into Tertiary Education initiative

The Maori into Tertiary Education initiative has received almost $650,000 in the form of an ASB community grant.

The Student Pipeline Project has been granted $647,500 over the next five years to expand their focus.

Currently the project finds jobs and internships for Maori students or graduates in the finance and IT sector, but can now also look at getting young Maori who are not studying into vocational and trades training.

Project leader Maria Paenga says without the grant, she simply couldn't afford to hire the staff needed to expand.
