Former Maori Affairs Minister Georgina te Heuheu has been appointed to the board of Maori Television.

Minister of Maori Affairs Pita Sharples says Mrs te Heuheu will serve a three year term on the board and will replace the current Chair Wayne Walden when his term expires on 30 April.

Dr Sharples says Mrs te Heuheu has extensive experience in central government, public accountability and recent experience with the Maori broadcasting industry as Associate Minister of Maori affairs.
