England woman cricketer reported for suspect bowling action

9:07 am on 3 March 2012

Jenny Gunn from the England women's team has been reported to the International Cricket Council because of a suspected illegal bowling action.

The right-armed medium pace bowler was reported by on-field umpires Derek Walker and Phil Jones, at the conclusion of the first one day international between New Zealand and England which was played on Thursday in Lincoln.

Gunn was last reported and cleared under the old system of home board analysis for bowlers with suspected illegal bowling action in March 2009 and this is the first time she has been reported under the new October 2009 system which mirrors the men's regulations and requires independent analysis.

Gunn's bowling action will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process.
