Ryder breaks team protocols again

6:09 am on 2 March 2012

Jesse Ryder's future in the New Zealand cricket team is again being tested after another alcohol-related incident.

Ryder and pace bowler Doug Bracewell have been reprimanded by Blackcaps team management for unacceptable behaviour following the second one-dayer in Napier on Wednesday night.

The pair won't be considered for tomorrow's third match in Auckland after breaking team protocols by drinking at a Napier bar.

The two also verbally reacted to taunts from a member of the public.

Team protocols dictate that players who are rehabilitating from injury should not consume alcohol..... Bracewell was receiving treatment for a tight hamstring and Ryder split webbing in his hand during match in Napier.

Team Manager Mike Sandle says both players have apologised for their actions and say they fully understood the consequences.

Ryder was involved in alcohol-related incidents in 2008 and 2010.

The selectors will announce any new members to the squad today.
