The New Zealand tennis number one, Marina Erakovic, has fallen at the last hurdle at the WTA Memphis tournament, losing the final 6-3 6-4 to sometimes doubles partner Sofia Arvidsson.
The fourth-seeded Aucklander had no answer to the unseeded Swede's impressive ground strokes, going down in straight sets in less than two hours.
Erakovic now heads to Mexico for another WTA event in Acapulco.
