Proteas win T20 decider from nowhere

South Africa stunned the Black Caps with a miraculous comeback to steal last night's Twenty20 series decider at Eden Park by three runs.

The home captain Brendan McCullum marshalled his bowling attack well to restrict South Africa to a modest total of 165 for seven, and the Black Caps batsmen seemed to be in total control of the run chase until the last couple of overs.

Eventually they needed seven runs off the final over, but the 21-year-old pace bowler Marchant de Lange took wickets with his third and fifth balls, then sent down a no-ball, before denying New Zealand the boundary they needed off the last ball of the match.

There's some concern about an apparent hamstring injury to the South African captain AB de Villiers ahead of the three-match one day series starting in Wellington on Saturday.
