The New Zealand motor racing legend Greg Murphy has won the first ever V8 SuperTourers race at Hampton Downs, near Auckland.
A crowd of around 6,000 watched Murphy reel in a fast-starting Andy Booth to take the win.
Surprise pole sitter Kayne Scott was second.
