Warriors forward suffers further injury setback

The Warriors forward Micheal Luck needs more surgery on his injured wrist further delaying his start to the National Rugby League season.

The 29-year-old had a pin inserted in his wrist after it was discovered he'd played in last year's grand final with a fractured wrist.

He also underwent shoulder surgery prior to Christmas.

Team doctor John Mayhew says while Luck is recovering well from that operation, his fractured wrist hasn't healed properly and he now requires a bone graft.

That will put back his return by a few weeks meaning he's unlikely to be available until at least mid-April.

Meanwhile, prop Jacob Lillyman has had surgery to reattach his bicep tendon in his right arm and Mayhew says that operation was successful although he'll miss the first two months of the season.

The Warriors opening NRL game is against reigning premiers Manly, in three weeks.
