New Zealand's leading woman's road cyclist, Linda Villumsen, will ride for the Australian professional team GreenEdge-AIS in the Tour of New Zealand in Manawatu later this month.

Villumsen, who's finished in the top three of individual time trial at the past three world road championships, is a member of Australia's first top level professional team, whose squad also includes world time trial champion and last year's tour winner Judith Arndt, of Germany.

The Italian national team has also confirmed it will compete at the event.

Over the five days of racing the riders will complete five stages totalling 520 kilometres.
