The New Zealand cricket selectors have named a number of new caps in their ODI and Twenty20 squads for the series against Zimbabwe.
Brendan McCullum will captain both sides with Ross Taylor out injured.
Michael Bates of Auckland, Andrew Ellis and Tom Latham of Canterbury and Tarun Nethula of Central Districts have made the 50 over side, while Bates and Nicol along with Colin de Grandholme and Ronnie Hira of Auckland have made the Twenty20 side.
National Selection Manager Kim Littlejohn says the new caps have earned their chance through solid performances at domestic level and they think it's the right time to take a look at players who will be in the frame for the Twenty20 World Cup later in the year, and looking further ahead to the 2015 ODI World Cup.
The first one day match is in Dunedin next Friday.
