White Ferns washed out again

5:56 pm on 27 January 2012

The New Zealand women's cricketers have suffered their second straight washout in the Rose Bowl series against Australia in Sydney.

The White Ferns' one day match was abandoned without a ball being bowled - so series will come down to the third and final match on Sunday, also set down for Sydney's Blacktown International Sportspark.

The first match of the Rose Bowl series between the White Ferns and Australia was washed out with only 22 and a half overs bowled at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The White Ferns were put into bat and reached 100 for two before the wet weather arrived to force the players from the field.
